West Ridge Early Education Centre educators provide generous blocks of time indoors, outdoors as well as during active play and quiet time for every child. By providing the larger blocks of time, this then, encourages children to communicate through creative experiences, music, dramatic play or movement. In Kindergarten, our staff provide open-ended materials both inside and out for construction and the opportunity for investigative questions.
We Offer:
Before/After school programs, Full Day PD Day/School Holiday programs and Summer Camps. Children are bused to and from Orchard Park, Notre Dome, and Samuel.
Room Structure:
Our school age program is licensed for 20 children, ages 4 years – 6 years old. We have two teachers working with the children.

West Ridge Early Education Centre fully supports an inclusive curriculum, with all children being active participants in regards to social interactions and developing the children’s abilities and skills. West Ridge Early Education Centre promotes a healthy lifestyle with all children, by providing a minimum of 2 hours of gross motor/outside play every day.
Meals and Snacks:
Before/After School Program: We provide a morning snack and an afternoon snack for the children enrolled in the before/after school program. We provide 2% milk or water plus a nutritious snack based on Canada’s Food Guide.
Holidays/PA Days/Summer Camp: We provide a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack and a hot lunch daily. We also provide 2% milk and water for your child. We are proud of our 4-week rotational menu’s and follow the Canadian Food Guide. We strive to prepare the majority of food items in our kitchen, substituting sugary additives for healthier choices. Our centre is nut-free and allergen-free upon request and is documented with an individualized plan.
Summer Camp Program:
Runs from Canada Day – Labour Day
- Summer camp – Fun and exciting onsite and offsite (field trip) programming
- Registration for summer camp begins in January for internal families and is open to external families by the end of March.
